STEPHEN SHORE- UNCOMMON PLACES

New book pickup from Stephen Shore, an absolute must-have for those who enjoy American color photography. Some call it boring, but I call it beautiful.

LISA YUSKAVAGE/TANYTH BERKELEY

Saw two shows recently that I really enjoyed, Lisa Yuskavage at Zwirner Gallery and Tanyth Berkeley at Danzinger Projects, both in Chelsea. The Yuskavage show consisted of paintings of women/girls in erotic poses, some faces whited out, as well as some other-worldly landscapes. Very impressive. The Tanyth Berkeley show was called GRACE, and was a series of beautiful photographs of an albino woman in various settings. Really, really great show, but I forgot my G9, so I settled for iphone shots. Enjoy?
