PROMETHEUS TRAILER

ALREADY MY FAVORITE FILM OF 2012!!!HOLY SHIT, IVE BEEN DISSECTING THIS TRAILER FOR AN HOUR. SPACE JOCKEY!!!!!!

NAN GOLDIN-SCOPOPHILIA

Had to catch the Nan Goldin show at Mathew Marks before things got any more hectic with the holidaze. SCOPOPHILIA is a show of Nan Goldins photos paired with pics taken at The Louvre in Paris. Also a slideshow which is mesmerizing, so don't miss it, if you are into her stuff.

ANCIENT AND MODERN

SCORE. 1st edition of William Eggleston ANCIENT AND MODERN...spine damage but no big woop.....got it cheap. Nice addition to my library, one of the few things I'm still actively hunting...books.

GEORGE

ITS 10 YEARS TODAY SINCE GEORGE HARRISON LEFT US.

THANKSGIVING

Positive vibes and beautiful veggie buffet at the Hare Krishna Temple in Brooklyn tonight. verrry mellllllow Thanksgiving. loved it.

MAURIZIO CATTELAN:ALL

Wasn't sure this show would work for me with all the art hung in the center of the Guggenheim, but somehow it all makes sense when you get to experience it. Some pieces would definitely have been more effective shown in their original state, but all in all a fun show to check out. I shot the hell out of it..here's a few.... a bit overwhelming eh?

PETTIBON- LOOKER-UPPER

Catalogue from his show at CONTEMPORARY FINE ARTS, BERLIN 2011. SO sick.

SABBATH 11/11/11

Sabbath reunited? Rick Rubin producing? Fingers crossed for something amazing.

TONY IOMMI-IRON MAN

I got to shake the hand (of doom) of Tony Iommi this evening at his book signing of IRON MAN, his autobiography. Really made my day.

EL TOPO

I got to experience EL TOPO at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in the presence of its creator Alejandro Jowdorowsky, last night. Two words (((((((MIND BLOWING)))))

HALLOWEEN WEEK III

THE NIGHT NO ONE COMES HOME....GREAT TEASER TRAILER (1982)

HALLOWEEN WEEK 2

I have no idea what this is but it looks messed up....INBRED.

HALLOWEEN WEEK

this movie was a complete game-changer when it hit in 1981.

THE STONE ROSES REUNITED AT LAST

I don't have to sell my soul...

DEF JAM 25 AT NYPL

Attended a rare joint discussion with Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin (founders of Def Jam Records, duh) discussing the first 25 years of the label. Rick kicked it off with a 3 minute meditation session..very chill, and then we got to listen to old records and listen to them talk shit. I'm a huge fan of the first 5 years at Def Jam, then not so much, but these two guys are legends in my eyes. Opening Slayers REIGN IN BLOOD lp back in '86 and seeing it had a Def Jam record sleeve was mind-blowing. Now Hip Hop and Slayer both suck, but there was a time when Def Jam made both magical. Oh, and I took some awful pics. Your welcome.

SUNDAY MATINEE

I forgot to mention an excellent show I caught at Primary Photographic Gallery on Christie....SUNDAY MATINEE by BROOKE SMITH. A bunch of pics taken during the NY hardcore scene in the 80s.....PLUS they put out a huge zine to document it all in awesome newspaper style format. Show closed already but maybe they still have the zine if you are into it?
