HARING MURAL @ DEITCH

Yes, checked out the beautifully simple, stunning Keith Haring mural at Deitch Studios this afternoon. Painted in 1985 at a San Francisco child day care center (or something), then removed when they loss the lease. My pics do NOT do it justice, as usual. Put it on your to-do list if you're trippin' in the apple. ha.

New work by William Eggleston at CHEIM & READ gallery on 25th street. Nice little collection of color photos of things not usually captured. Take a stroll over, and while you're there, Diane Arbus has an amazing show in the same gallery. Two for one special for photography weirdos.

MISERY OBSCURA

I know it's early in the year, but I really doubt that a better photography book will be released in 2010. No shit. Attended the signing of Eerie Von's amazing book of Misfits/Samhain/Danzig photos, and it really is a masterpiece of photos which will blow away any fan of these bands or just fans of "punk rock photography"(for lack of better words). Amazing, friendly guy as well, who signed my book "to the beard..".........ha ha. Great night. Thanks Eerie.
